Job sites like Simplyhired,Monster and Career Builder are a waste of time to the educated job seeker.
(A)The POOL.
No educated job searcher wants their resume thrown into a pool of thousands of other applicants. A job search site caters to getting hundreds of applicants to certain positions.
(B) Recruiters
Most job sites are frequented by job recruiters who have very little practical knowledge of the position that they are recruiting for.
In essence if the perfect candidate came forward and flicked them in the back of the ear they would never know it.
(C) Who is the company?
Lots of times you spend 20 or 30 minutes tweaking your resume to fit a certain job description and you have no clue who the [...]

I’ll keep this post short and simple. The online job market isn’t very complex and should not consume and be your only source of daily activity. To get a job, in this economy you need to both think like a marketer and build a personal brand around yourself that cannot be stopped.
(A) Keywords
Understand on a deep level the position that you are looking for and before you post your resume to sites like monster and careerbuilder make sure your resume has the keywords in it that fit the job description that you are looking for.
I know this sounds elementary and logical but for some it isn’t. Résumé’s are found through sites like monster.com and careerbuilder based [...]

Exciting news today finally from the Apple’s WWDC 2010 conference. The iPhone 4G is actually being released this month after months of drama and heart rest. According to credible sources the release date is going to be June 22nd.
According to another source the price points will be $199 for 32 GB and $299 for 64 GB which in my opinion is very cost efficient especially for somebody like me who is waiting for this stupid phone to come out so I could leave crappy T-Mobile.
Some of the new updated features include
-A 5 megapixel camera does HD video recording of 720p at 30 frames-per-second
- A “tap-to-focus” for video allowing users to edit videos on [...]

I left for Costa Rica with my friend John on Wednesday May 26th. I traveled from Orlando International Airport and arrived in San Jose in only 2 and half hours. From the moment I got off the airplane I just felt like a tourist. We walked outside the airport and it was like we were at a press conference people were screaming at us in Spanish trying to offer us everything from taxi rides to blow jobs. Finally we walk outside of the booth and we see [...]

So today for whatever reason I wanted to try something new and exciting. After Zip Lining, Repelling off of Waterfalls, ATV’ing through the Jungle, and White Water Rafting in the scariest rapids in the world, I decided it was time that I try something new and get a manicure.
I heard about the Aveda Salon place about 2 months ago while downtown, some girl named Chelsea whom I met at Gino’s Pizza told me she was graduating from there so I thought I would give it a shot. After all for a sloppy drunk women who chews tobacco Chelsea seemed like she knew what she was talking about. So this morning I called to [...]

So I am driving in my car yesterday from Tampa to Orlando which is like a 2 hour trip and I am sitting there listening to music on 106.7 and 107.1 h and its just the same exact music coming on song after song its either Lady Gaga or some other ultra feminine not so straight guy singing about hooking up with girls.
Like most other times in my life I start thinking about the job of the On Air Radio DJ and how similar it is to the job of a Doctor. The DJ’s job to play the music that is making him/her money right now. So if Lady Gaga’s record labels pays “X” [...]

Have you ever thought about what life would be like without “names”? It would not be much different than life currently. So today I am sitting at Ember Bar in downtown Orlando drinking a glass of crappy wine just observing social interaction between Ann the bartender and some dude ordering a drink. Random dude starts trying to start conversation with the bartender and she is not listening to any of the words coming out his mouth but miraculously she seems to grasp the drink he orders. The dude on the other hand is busy multi-tasking, he is staring at her boobs and talking out his ass about how they might have went to high school [...]

So I’m at the Waterford LA Fitness doing leg lunges with 55-pound dumb bells, which are just destroying my knees. I tend to take these really long breaks before workouts mainly because I am a lazy bum and also because I have this really bad of habit of daydreaming while at the gym.
If there is something I don’t understand about the human mind it is the reason why we only tend to have actual daydreams in certain places that we have spent significant portions of our life in and in my case that is the gym. I have been working for out for as long as I could remember and it has served as a breeding [...]

Today I learned about what I call “The Art of Low Balling”. My definition of a low-ball is an offer to make during a business proposition in which both parties in negotiation intrinsically know that the offer made by the offerrer is way below market value.
A low-ball offer is in my opinion a showing of confidence and cockiness by the offerer and in a sense shows the seller that they mean business and are serious. A low-ball offer is secretly enhanced from a physiology point of view when a third party is introduced into the equation from the offerer side. An example of this is at my day job. We are buying Internet traffic from [...]

Over the last couple weeks I have had the luxury of being able to travel and go to various conventions such as Affiliate Summit and Pubcon all major online advertising conventions. The main purpose of going these conventions is to (A) Learn Something New (B) Network and or which rarely happens or which rarely happens (C) Develop long lasting Friendships that have nothing to do with business. I know this is a very cut a dry terminology toward going to conventions but for the most part its true.
